The Springly website editor allows you to configure the header and footer of your site. Both sections appear identically on every page of your website.
The header contains the fixed information displayed at the top of each of your pages (menu, logo, home image). The footer contains the fixed information displayed at the bottom of each of your pages (social media, link blocks, newsletter).
This article covers the following topics:
Configuring the header
Where do you edit the header?
To update the content, images, and design in the header, go to Website > Settings and theme and click on the Header section.
Selecting the area to edit
On this page, you can see a preview of your header. Click Click here to show/hide what can be edited to modify any element you want.
Then select the element you want to edit (Menu, Home page image, or Information block on image) and click Click to edit.
You can then make your changes in the section that appears below the menu:
Adding a logo to the menu
Click on the menu area: a block appears and lets you configure this section.
Click Edit the organization logo to choose whether to display it, and if so, where to position it.
Good to know: if you have already uploaded your logo from Settings > My nonprofit, it will appear here. You can also replace it.
Add a clickable button to the menu
Depending on the theme you choose, you can add a clickable button to your menu. This button appears across all your pages. Here's an example:
Select the Menu element on the Header configuration page. Check the Button box: a block appears. Name this button and set the redirect page.
You can add another button by clicking Add a second button.
Change the header photo(s)
Select the Home page image element, then scroll to the bottom of the page to edit the area.
Select an image from your computer and upload it to the designated area.
Choose a large enough image to avoid a blurry result. Your image width should be 1920px to span the full width of the page.
Upload multiple images if you want a slideshow of photos at the top of your home page.
Once uploaded, your photo appears: you can zoom in or out by clicking the ZOOM + and ZOOM - buttons located in the upper left corner of the header preview area.
Configure the footer
To update the information and blocks in your footer, go to Website > Settings and theme > Footer.
On this page, you can preview your footer. Three customization options are available: Social Networks, Link Blocks, and Other.
Display social networks in the footer
Select the social networks you want to display in the footer. To set the URL for each of your social networks, see the article Add your nonprofit's social networks.
The logo of each selected social network appears on the right side of the footer. Each logo is clickable and redirects to the page you specified.
Display a footer menu
With the Link Blocks option, you can configure your footer menu. This menu can link to external sites or provide quick access to one or more pages on your site.
- Click New block: a dialog box opens.
- Enter the block title, then save.
- Click New link to add a link to the block.
- Enter the link label and its destination (external link or a page on your site).
- Click Save.
Repeat steps 3 through 5 for each link you want to add.
The block and its links will now appear in your site's footer:
Use the arrows to reorder blocks in the footer. The gear icon lets you rename a block, and the red cross deletes it.
Add a newsletter signup or text to the footer
The Other section lets you add a Newsletter block: visitors can sign up for your newsletter by entering their email address. Check the box to display this block.
You can also add text at the top of your footer. Enter the text in the designated field: it will then appear in the footer, as shown here.
