Prerequisites: publish your form
Springly automatically generates the links you need to share your membership, donation, or other forms, quickly and easily! Simply save and publish your form.
In your form settings, you have 2 ways to make sure it's visible and available:
- When creating your form, click Publish;
- If you prefer to save it as a draft and publish it later, no problem: go to the Configuration tab of your form. At the top of the page, change the status from "Draft" to "Published", then click Save.
Good to know: by default, publishing a form makes it accessible via a link. As long as you haven't shared that link, your community won't be able to find it. To learn more, see this article.
Start communicating
1- Get the link
For all membership forms, you'll find the links generated by Springly in the Share tab, ready for you to distribute.
2- Spread the word
Once your membership form is active and visible, we encourage you to:
- Send an email campaign
- Announce the launch of your membership form on your social media channels.
Setting up your membership form on your website
Whatever website you use, we recommend featuring your membership form prominently. It's a great way for your members to find it easily and join online securely and effortlessly!
Below you'll find guidance tailored to your situation.
1- Your website is not built on Springly
Even if your website wasn't created with Springly, you can still embed your form on it. Springly lets you generate a code so your members can join or sign up, pay, and fill in their information without ever leaving your nonprofit's website. Pretty neat, right?
This code, commonly called an "iframe", is easy to copy, paste, and set up. We've written a dedicated article to help you embed Springly on your website.
2- You use the Springly Website builder
If you use the Springly Website builder, the winning combination is to:
1- Create a dedicated page for your form;
2- Add a button on your home page linking to your form.
For guidance on building your website, check out the dedicated articles: Website
3- You don't have a website
Springly automatically generates a landing page to host your form.
This landing page can be visited by anyone with the link found on the Distribution page. You can share it by email, on your social media channels, or through any other communication channel.
If you need help, feel free to reach out to our support team.
A few extra tips to get your form noticed
Create and share a QR code to distribute your form
If you use flyers or other physical communication materials, a QR code is a great way to share your forms.
Good news: it's automatically generated in Springly!
Go to the "Share" tab of your form, download your QR code, and add it to your materials!
Spread the word on social media
If your nonprofit has social media pages or accounts, your forms belong there too. Take a membership form as an example: memberships are the highlight of your nonprofit's new season!
You can:
- Customize your accounts by updating your banners to reflect this news, and add the link to your membership form in the image description;
- Share different types of posts to promote your membership form: member spotlights, yearly program, upcoming events, countdown to the membership deadline, etc. You can pin your best-performing post to the top of your page;
- Update your main call-to-action button (available on Facebook, for example) to link directly to your membership form page.
Highlight the benefits of membership
If joining your nonprofit comes with perks, don't miss the chance to spell them out.
Whether it's access to a space or equipment, invitations or discounts for events, early access to news, or anything else, these are all compelling reasons that can convince someone on the fence to take the leap and join.
Re-engage your nonprofit's former members
When it comes to growing your membership, the people you already know are often the first to sign up. Don't forget to send them a personalized message.
If you've been using Springly for a while, spotting them in your Community is easy.
You can also encourage them to tell their friends and family about your nonprofit — they'll become ambassadors!
Tap into nonprofit networks
Many nonprofits belong to a larger network — a great opportunity to get your membership form in front of more people.
You can also reach out to local community centers, nonprofit resource hubs, or neighborhood organizations. They may be willing to display your flyers or share your membership form in their newsletter, on their social media, or on their website. This approach works especially well for nonprofits with strong local roots.
Host a kick-off event, in person or online!
A friendly event is a great opportunity to share the spirit of your nonprofit and inspire people to join your ranks. It doesn't have to be elaborate: no need to fill a concert hall, a small and welcoming gathering works perfectly.
This gathering will be the perfect chance to introduce the nonprofit, its members, and its initiatives. Guests can ask all their questions while enjoying direct, personal access to the people who run the organization.
If meeting in person isn't an option, you can also organize a small online event.
If your gathering is in person, make sure you have internet access available so you can sign up interested attendees on the spot.
For online events, be sure to share the link to your membership form!
