A sub-rate is an optional add-on you can attach to a main rate already created for an event, to offer an additional service or collect information related to that rate.
This article walks you through how to do it.
- What types of sub-rates can I create, and when should I use each one?
- How do I add a sub-rate to an existing rate?
- How do attendees see sub-rates when registering?
What types of sub-rates can I create, and when should I use each one?
- Optional service: use this when you want to offer a paid add-on with its own price and label (e.g., a meal, a welcome pack, an extra night of accommodation).
- Free-text response: use this when you want to collect information tied to the rate, with no impact on the price (e.g., a dietary requirement, a t-shirt size, an emergency contact number).
How do I add a sub-rate to an existing rate?
Before creating a sub-rate, you must have already created a rate in an event form.
- From the Events menu, open the ticketing for the relevant event and click Manage the offer.
- Open the Rates section of the form.
- Click the Sub-rate button next to the main rate you want to add the option to.
- Choose the sub-rate type (Optional service or Free-text response) and fill in its label (and price if applicable).
- Confirm and save the ticketing so the sub-rate is visible at registration.
How do attendees see sub-rates when registering?
Once an attendee selects the main rate during registration, any configured sub-rates automatically appear below it, as a checkbox (Optional service) or a text field (Free-text response).
