Creating your pricing structure
To start, here is a short video recap on creating a pricing structure. If you have any questions about your offerings, feel free to watch it. It includes some helpful tips!
Linking a membership price to a group
When creating your membership forms, you can configure the form so that a person who selects a membership price is automatically added to a group.
This feature is also available for donation forms, but not for event ticketing or the online shop.
How it works
Your members are all different. It may therefore be useful to segment them into distinct groups.
For example: you have 2 membership prices — an under-25 rate at $15 and a standard membership at $25. It can be helpful to know at any time who signed up at the under-25 rate and who is a standard member.
Springly helps you manage these situations by offering automatic sorting of members based on the price they selected when joining.
How to do it
To automate this sorting, go to your membership form (in the membership creation form), then to the section 2- Prices and membership bundles.
Click the gear icon on an existing membership bundle. A window will open.
You can then click More options, then Automatically add the registrant to a group if this option is selected, and choose your group.
Once these changes are made, people who sign up for the standard membership will be automatically added to the selected group.

Managing discounts for your memberships
With ticketing forms (Events, Online Shop, Membership, Donation), you can apply a discount system.
How it works
For each form, you can set up one or more discount rules that apply across all pricing tiers. This happens automatically at checkout: the system checks whether the condition is met, and if so, applies the discount.
Several rules can be configured when setting up your form:
- Number of participants: if a buyer registers more than 3 participants, including themselves, they receive a discount of $X or X% per participant.
- Buyer's group membership (certain members): if the buyer belongs to group Y, they can receive a discount of $X or X% per participant.
If the discount is based on the certain members option, what matters is the buyer's group membership. If the buyer is a member, for example, non-member participants will also benefit from the discount.
Discounts do not stack: if a person meets multiple criteria, only the most favorable discount applies.
Conditions for applying the "certain members" discount
The discount system checks the buyer's profile to determine whether the discount should be applied. The buyer is the only logged-in member at the time of purchase, which is not the case for other participants.
If the discount is based on the certain members option, what matters is the buyer's group membership. If the buyer is a member, for example, non-member participants will also benefit from the discount.
For this discount to apply, the buyer's group membership must also be listed in their profile before the transaction. They must therefore be logged in and have created their account before registering.
Calculation method
If you create a discount, it will apply to the entire cart, not to a specific pricing tier.
Example: if a person selects pricing tier A and pricing tier B, and receives a 20% discount, that 20% will apply to all tiers combined.
If you still want to apply specific discounts for each rate, you can configure these rates and condition them based on criteria such as: group membership, number of units purchased, etc.
Tip: Start from the final cart price (without any discount), then work out what discount to apply to reach the price you want!
Setup
To set up a discount, go to the Configuration page of your form and navigate to the Membership Bundle section.
Create your discount rule by clicking apply a discount. Then fill in the details for your discount rule: a description, the discount amount (as a % or in $), and the condition under which the discount applies.
Add as many discounts as needed and save.

Managing overly long pricing grids
For one of your ticketing forms, the pricing grid may be too long, making the choice overwhelming for potential buyers. We'll walk through how to address this below.
Reduce the number of bundles
One of the first things to consider is reducing the number of bundles offered.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Could some bundles be merged?
- Would I rather handle 90% of registrations online and manage the rest offline?
The more complex a pricing grid is, the more confused potential buyers will be.
Create pricing grids
If you have no other option, we recommend using the Rate Group feature.
General concept
With this feature, you can group certain rates together to make the pricing grid easier to read. Users will then be able to distinguish Rate Group A, B, or C.
Creating rate groups
To create these rate groups, go to the Membership Bundles section of the form. Click the gray Add a rate group button.
Drag each bundle into the group of your choice (using the 4-arrow icon). Save. The group has been created and the rates have been placed inside a rate group.
