Every person registered in your Community has a profile page that brings together all of their personal information. This article is written for nonprofit administrators: it explains how to give your members access to their profile — from your Springly website or via a direct link — and how they can then update their own information.
The fields displayed on the profile page are the ones you defined in your contacts database settings (see the article Configuring your contacts database fields).
In this article:
- When should personal information be updated?
- How to access a profile page from the nonprofit's website
- How to access a profile page via a direct link
- How to edit information on a profile page
- Can you change your login email or password from the profile page?
- What the profile page doesn't allow
When should personal information be updated?
Some information never changes — a date of birth, for example — while other details shift regularly: home address, phone number, email. And the value of a contacts database depends entirely on the accuracy of the information it holds.
The most common situation is membership renewals: returning members' personal information, already on file in your Community, is not requested again when they renew. That's what keeps the process simple — but it also means outdated information stays outdated.
👉 During your renewal campaign, encourage your members to review their profile page and correct anything that's no longer accurate. The next two sections explain how to give them access.
How to access a profile page from the nonprofit's website
This method requires that your website be built on Springly. The member's experience is as follows:
- Go to your nonprofit's website.
- Click the "Log in" button and enter your credentials.
The button may appear in the header (not always) or in the footer (always). - Once logged in, click the "My account" button that appears — it takes you directly to your profile page.
If the "Log in" button doesn't appear in the footer, you're probably already logged in! In that case, you'll see "My account" and "Log out" instead.
How do I access my profile page from a direct link?
If you communicate with your members by email (typically during or after a renewal period), you can include a direct link to their profile page in your email campaign.
The link format depends on your domain name:
-
Without a custom domain name:
https://xxxxx.assoconnect.com/membres/profil/
Example:https://mon-asso-123-coco.assoconnect.com/membres/profil/
-
With a custom domain name:
https://yourdomainname/membres/profil/
Example:https://openasso.org/membres/profil/
If the member is no longer logged in, they will first land on the login page; once they enter their credentials, they are redirected to their profile page, where they can make changes right away.
How do I update my profile page information?
Once on their profile page, the member updates their own information:
- Click the "Update profile" button.
- Edit the desired fields.
- Save the changes.
The updated information is immediately reflected in your contacts database — no action needed on your end.
Can I update my login email address or password from the profile page?
Yes, both.
- Login email address: it can be changed directly from the profile page. ⚠️ After this change, the old password remains linked to the old address — on the next login, you'll need to use "Forgot password" to set a new password.
- Password: it can also be changed from the profile page, in the "Password" section at the bottom of the page.
What the profile page doesn't allow
- Add a field: members can only fill in the fields you've enabled in your contacts database settings. To add or remove fields, that's done on the administrator side.
- Access without credentials: the profile page is only accessible to people who have an account and their login credentials. If a member can't log in, see Can't log in to your Springly account? Here's what to do
