This article explains how to enable and configure the automations available between your Springly Forms and Events and the other features of the platform: groups, accounting, registration confirmations, and discounts. By default, the Form configuration offers a limited set of settings. These automations are advanced options that must be explicitly enabled in your account settings.
- How do I enable automations on my Forms and Events?
- How do I automatically assign registrants to a Group based on their pricing option?
- How do I assign a book entry for a pricing option to a specific account?
- How do I enable automatic confirmation sending when adding a registrant manually?
- How do I set up discounts on my pricing options?
For other types of advanced settings, see the Advanced Form configuration section.
Note: The information in this article applies to all Form types available in Springly (Membership Campaigns, Donation Campaigns, Events, and Product Sales), which work in a similar way. Some terms (such as registrants, members, or buyers) may vary depending on the Form type.
How do I enable automations on my Forms and Events?
Note: Enabling these settings makes the automations available in various places across the configuration pages for all your Forms and Events. You can then choose whether or not to use them.
- Go to Settings > Forms and Events.
- Toggle on (green button) the type of automation you want to enable.
The enabled automations then become available in the configuration of all your Forms and Events.
How do I automatically assign registrants to a Group based on their pricing option?
Automatic Group assignment adds anyone who selects a specific pricing option or plan to a fixed Group. This automation lets you segment your database right from sign-up — for example, by level or class.
- In the Form configuration, go to step 2 - Pricing (and plans).
- On the relevant pricing option, click Settings (gear icon).
- Click More options.
- Check Automatically add the registrant to a group if this option is selected.
- Select the desired Group.
- Confirm the pricing option, then click Save (at the top of the page) or Publish (at the bottom of the page).
Every new person who selects this pricing option will now be added to the selected Group.
How do I assign a book entry for a pricing option to a specific account?
By default, pricing options and plans are linked to a predefined accounting account. For example, membership plans are linked to the Memberships account.

You can reassign a pricing option to a more specific accounting account. This setting enables more granular accounting tracking by pricing type — for example, to know the total amount collected for a given pricing option.

How do I enable automatic confirmation emails on manual registrations?
When this automation is enabled, the Send a confirmation by email option is checked by default each time a participant is manually added to a form. Springly then sends a confirmation email to that person, provided an email address is on file.
If the automation is not enabled in Settings > Forms and Events, the Send a confirmation by email checkbox remains visible, but unchecked by default.
How do I set up discounts on my pricing options?
Create discount rules based on a person's Group membership or the number of registrants in the same campaign. You'll find this setting in step 2 - Pricing (and plans) of your form configuration.
Please note: discounts are applied to all plans and pricing options in your form. Springly does not support targeting a discount to a single pricing option.
