You are configuring your domain managed with the registrar OVH yourself. This article explains how to do it and covers the following points:
- Add a CNAME record
- Add a TXT record
- Redirect from mynonprofit.org to www.mynonprofit.org
- Confirm the configuration on your end (required)
If you run into issues, domain name configuration by our team is a paid service: contact support. If you prefer to continue on your own, make sure the configuration is finalized in the software interface, then contact OVH support.
Add a CNAME Record
General case
Log in to your Manager space on the OVH website and select your domain name.
Go to the DNS Zone tab and click Add an entry on the right side of the page.
Select CNAME.
Once the window opens, create a redirect of the type www IN CNAME assoconnect-3-esdee4h2h5c6d9gj.z01.azurefd.net. Enter the subdomain www and this target domain.
Confirm and you're all set: the only remaining step is to complete the configuration process in Springly.
The target domain must be "assoconnect-x-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.z01.azurefd.net". If your organization name is "My Nonprofit", the target will be "assoconnect-2-czcyhchkh8agebdx.z01.azurefd.net." and not "my-nonprofit.assoconnect.com". We change the target domain every 100 registered domains, so it will be updated regularly in this article, but you will not need to make any changes if you have already configured your domain name.
Additional checks
Your CNAME record may not be saved despite following the steps above. To make sure, check the DNS zone in text mode.
If you do not see the record you added, the operation did not work. This can happen if other CNAME/TXT records already exist for the subdomain ("www").
In that case, we recommend:
- Delete the TXT or A records associated with the domain in question:
For example: www (i.e. www.mynonprofit.org TXT 3|welcome and www.mynonprofit.org TXT I |us) - Delete the CNAME pointing to Springly and recreate it.
Add a TXT Record
- Subdomain: Leave blank if the record applies to the root domain (e.g. mynonprofit.org), or enter the relevant subdomain (e.g.
www) - TTL: Keep the default value suggested by OVH
- Value: Enter the value provided by Springly
⚠️ TXT record propagation can take up to 48 hours.
Redirect from mynonprofit.org to www.mynonprofit.org
This step is strongly recommended if you have set up a CNAME on "www". Without it, your website will be accessible at www.mynonprofit.org but not at mynonprofit.org, and visitors who don't type the exact URL will see an error message.
Three redirects are required:
- http://mynonprofit.org -> https://www.mynonprofit.org
- http://www.mynonprofit.org -> https://www.mynonprofit.org
- https://mynonprofit.org -> https://www.mynonprofit.org
⚠️ The last redirect cannot be completed directly using OVH's redirect tool and requires hosting configured with OVH. We are unable to perform this configuration for you. Please contact OVH Support: without this step, your page will be inaccessible in the browser, which will display a connection error.
Click the Add a redirect button on the right side of your page. Leave the field blank, then choose the options to a web address and with a visible redirect.
Select the Permanent (301) option, then enter your domain name (https://www.mynonprofit.org) with "www" in the field. Make sure to confirm through to the final step.
Check out this article for more information on how redirects work at OVH.
Confirm the configuration on your end (required)
If you configure your domain name yourself, you will still need to finalize this configuration in the software interface. This action sends a request to our team, who will handle the remaining steps (including SSL certificate installation).
Go to Website > Settings and Theme > Domain Name. Select the options I already have a domain name and I am configuring my domain name myself.
Then complete the 3 steps requested in the software.
Once these steps are confirmed, our team will link your domain name to your website within 72 business hours.
