In accordance with applicable data protection laws, each nonprofit using Springly is considered the data controller for the personal data of its users.
This means that the nonprofit is responsible for protecting personal data and must respect the rights of individuals, including the right to have their data deleted.
Scope: this article is based on GDPR, which applies to nonprofits located in the European Union / European Economic Area. If your nonprofit is based outside the EU/EEA, the obligations and timelines described below may not apply directly to your situation — feel free to contact us if you have questions.

How to submit a personal data deletion request
Have you been in contact with a nonprofit that uses Springly?
If you'd like to delete your information linked to a nonprofit using Springly, please contact that nonprofit directly.
Are you an administrator of a nonprofit using Springly?
Please send us a request at dpo@assoconnect.com so we can delete the data associated with your account.
How Springly handles personal data deletion requests
When Springly receives a request to delete personal data, we act in accordance with our obligations under applicable data protection law:
Deletion of data from our systems
Where it exists, we will delete personal information from our systems, excluding data stored on our clients' platforms, within a maximum of one month.
We will then notify the requester once the deletion is complete.
Forwarding the request to Springly's nonprofit clients
⚠️We do not delete personal data stored on our nonprofit clients' platforms.
Springly will identify all nonprofits that store personal information relating to the requester.
Springly will then forward a data deletion request to the nonprofits concerned.
Upon receipt of this request, nonprofits are legally required to fulfill it within a maximum of one month.
For nonprofits: how to delete or anonymize a contact?
Deleting a contact
If you choose to delete the contact, you can do so directly from your Springly interface.
Here's how: edit, delete, or archive a contact.
Contact Anonymization
Anonymization is an alternative that removes all personally identifying information from a contact while retaining certain data for statistical or historical purposes.
To anonymize a contact:
- Replace the personal information with random characters or fictitious data.
- (Optional) To make it easier to track and understand your data in the future, you can also give your anonymized contact a clearly identifiable name, such as "Anonymized Contact".
What if your situation doesn't match any of the cases above?
If your request involves a specific situation (a dispute over a deletion, an urgent request, or a question about the scope of your obligations), contact us through our Springly support or at dpo@assoconnect.com.
