The e-wallet is the virtual account, linked to your bank account, where all online payments land: forms (memberships, donations, events, etc.) and payment links. This article explains how money moves, the payment fees deducted, and how to transfer funds to your nonprofit's bank account.
This money belongs to your nonprofit and can be transferred to its bank account at any time. The e-wallet flow is illustrated below using two purchase examples at different price points (User 1 and User 2).
- Payment at the time of transaction
- Receiving funds in your e-wallet
- Transferring funds from your e-wallet to your nonprofit's bank account
Payment at the time of transaction
Two users (User 1 and User 2) register through an event ticketing form published on your website. Both pay by credit card at different price points:
- User 1 pays $10
- User 2 pays $30
Receiving funds in your e-wallet
The total amount paid by both users comes to $40.
From that total, payment fees are deducted — in this example, $1.84:
- $0.61, i.e. $10 × 1.8% + $0.25 for User 1
- $1.23, i.e. $30 × 1.8% + $0.25 for User 2
Payment fees are deducted before the funds reach your e-wallet.
The balance shown in your e-wallet is therefore the amount that will be transferred to your nonprofit's bank account. You can access this page from Payments > E-wallet.
Transferring funds from your e-wallet to your nonprofit's bank account
You can request a transfer from your e-wallet to your nonprofit's bank account at any time. From Payments > E-wallet, click Transfer to my bank.
Select the destination bank account, then the amount to transfer, and confirm. The transfer appears in your e-wallet history and funds arrive in your bank account within 5 business days.
Transfer as often as you like — there are no fees for moving funds from your e-wallet to your bank account.
If the Transfer to my bank button is grayed out, the transfer cannot be completed for one of the following reasons:
- your e-wallet balance is zero;
- your e-wallet has not yet been verified;
- your last transfer was made less than 5 days ago, as transfers take 5 business days to process.
