A group administrator is a member who manages and contacts only the members of the group they administer, with no rights over the rest of the community. This role is suited for a section or committee leader. Example: at My Nonprofit 123, the leader of the "Basketball Section" group needs to send an email to the 30 members of their section. They are assigned the group administrator role for "Basketball Section" — not the community manager role.
How do you assign the group administrator role?
- Click Community > Groups in your side menu.
- Click the name of the relevant group, for example "Basketball Section".
- Open the Group Members tab.
- Click the member you want to grant rights to.
- Enable the Group Administrator option.
- Click Save.
How do you confirm the group administrator role has been assigned?
The member now appears as a group administrator and can find this group in their personal space. A group administrator does not appear in the Settings > Administrators list: that list is reserved for platform administrators.
What are the access limitations of a group administrator?
- They can only view and contact members of their group.
- They cannot access the profiles of members outside their group.
- They cannot access the nonprofit's Accounting, Communication, Memberships, or Events modules.
- They do not appear in the Settings > Administrators list.
